All Star releases are basketball's exhibition weekend translated into product, and Jordan Brand has more claim to that weekend than anyone: Michael Jordan is the founding signature athlete and namesake, signed to Nike in 1984, and the brand has been a standalone Nike division with its own roster since 1997. Putting the treatment on the Air Jordan 1 Low rather than a performance model is the modern call, because the Low is the shoe people actually wear to the event rather than in it.
