Origin: Racer blue is a bright, clean blue with no grey in it, and the reverse treatment puts it where you do not expect. Instead of blue overlays on a white shoe, the blue takes the body and white does the framing, which flips the entire read from a distance. That trick only works because the Dunk Low's panel layout is so fixed in memory that any inversion registers immediately. Nike has been relying on that recognition since the Swoosh first appeared on product on 18 June 1971 and became the anchor that lets colour move freely around it. On this pair the blue is the shoe, and the white is punctuation.

Construction: Blue leather forms the base with white overlays at the toe, eyestay, Swoosh and heel, so the light colour outlines the shape rather than filling it. The court build below is unchanged: foam midsole for standing comfort, rubber outsole for grip on smooth floors, an approach that comes directly from Bowerman's insistence that ground contact is engineering rather than trim. The padded collar and tongue make a basketball derived shape survive full days on hard surfaces. Bright blue leather holds up well to dust but fades in direct sun, and the white framing panels are the parts that will show age first, so clean them separately.

Utility: Wear it with light wash denim and a white tee so the blue tones stack and the outfit stays summery.
