Origin: Released on 12 December 2024 and part of New Balance's 1906 line. This release has a mesh upper in Beige/Light Grey/White. Beige Light Grey is the 1906R behaving itself. The 1906 platform comes from New Balance's technical running catalogue of the two thousands, drawn when running shoes were expected to look engineered, with exposed structure and busy panelling that announced the shoe was doing something. Wearing it in beige and light grey removes the aggression from that language. You keep all the complexity of the silhouette but read it as texture rather than as technology, which lines the shoe up with the neutral palette the brand's reputation was built on. This is the version of the 1906R that gets worn most often, precisely because it argues with nothing else you own.
