The Omega Speedmaster Apollo xvii Limited Edition was produced in a limited run of only 272 pieces and commemorates the 45th anniversary of the moon landing in 1972. We are offering #271 / 272 from a collection, one of the most interesting numbers in the series. The chronograph was purchased in an Omega boutique in 2020 and is like new. The case has been refreshed in-house and the bracelet has been replaced as it had subtle signs of wear. The 42 mm 18 k yellow gold case is equipped with a polished blue ceramic bezel including a tachymeter scale made of Omega Ceragold. The dial, which is also made of polished blue ceramic, features yellow gold indices and moon hands for the hours and minutes, which are coated with SuperLumiNova luminous material. While the subdial hands are made of 18k yellow gold, the central chronograph hand is gold-plated and has a red tip. The red lettering "05:34 GMT" refers to the time when the last step on the moon was taken. The subdial at 9 o'clock features a representation of the god Apollo, the moon, and the number 17 in gold. The watch is fitted with a brown leather strap with an 18K yellow gold clasp and is powered by OMEGA's famous hand-wound caliber 1861. The case back is engraved with the words "45th anniversary" and "Limited Edition" as well as the unique number 271. It is also decorated with a central Apollo 17 medallion featuring an embossed eagle and the words "apollo xvii" and "a tribute to Gene Cernan." We offer a 1-year warranty from the date of sale.
