Starting with the RM 67-01, whose lightness, thinness and ergonomics made it a perfect candidate, we reworked its lines to highlight its hidden athletic qualities. The definition of the bezels and case with four extensions, in addition to being a hallmark of the brand’s sports watches, contributes to the reinforcement the case structure. The RM 67-02 weighs a mere of 32 grams, thanks to the combination of TPT composite materials, grade 5 titanium and the elastic wristband, the lightest strap ever created by the brand. The present reference RM67-02 Wayde van Nieker comes in green and yellow, representing the colors of South Africa. The color scheme continues on the bridges on the dial side, which are hand-painted. An extreme sports model, this is the lightest automatic watch produced by Richard Mille, weighing a mere 32grams including the strap. The case measures 38.7mm x 47.52mm and is 7.8mm thick and is made of a combination of Quartz TPT and Carbon TPT. Result of extreme engineering and collaboration between NTPT and Richard Mille, the innovative case material was first used in the RM27-02 Rafael Nadal back in 2015. On the inside is the Richard Mille in-house Calibre CRMA7 automatic movement, offering a 50-hr power reserve. The baseplate and the bridges are made in Grade 5 titanium and a pierced Carbon TPT rotor, all incorporated together to maintain the lightweight of this timepiece. As extreme and technical it all may seem, and as with all Richard Mille timepieces, the movement is finished beautifully to the highest standards with beveled edges and hand-polished screw heads.
