Origin: The Blazer is one of the oldest patterns Nike owns, from the years just after it stopped distributing Onitsuka Tiger in 1972 and started building shoes under its own name, and its simplicity is why skateboarding adopted it. The SB Zoom Blazer Mid is the skate-built version: same tall, plain leather silhouette, engineered for board feel and impact instead of for a court. Summit White with University Red is the cleanest possible reading of it, a bright white upper with a single hot red Swoosh, which is close to the shoe's original graphic logic. Style code 864349 identifies the line. Nothing here is decorative, which is precisely the appeal.

Construction: A leather upper on the mid-height Blazer pattern with a padded collar and tongue, reinforced through the areas a board actually contacts, over a vulcanised-feel outsole tuned for grip and board feel rather than for cushioning depth. Zoom cushioning in the name points at Nike Air, the pressurised gas unit sealed in the midsole that the company has used since 1987 to turn impact protection into a design feature, applied here under the foot where landings happen. Style code 864349 marks it. Summit White leather is the least forgiving surface Nike sells, so this shoe looks perfect for about a week and then starts telling the truth about how you use it.

Utility: Recipe one: loose black or indigo jeans stacked over the shoe, a plain tee and a hoodie, the native fit, where the red Swoosh is the only colour in play. Recipe two: white trousers with a navy knit, the tidier version, where a crisp Blazer Mid reads almost like a tennis shoe.
